Impulsive Carey Brent disgusts her family's chauffeur, who quits after dumping a carload of her
six joy-riding friends into a brook. Escaped convict Harry the Duke lays glass on a road, and after
knocking out Paul Sayre, who stopped to fix a flat, exchanges clothes with him. When Carey's tire
is punctured and Paul helps her, she impulsively offers him a position as her chauffeur so she can
reform him, thinking that he is the publicized burglar. Although attracted to him, Carey resists
Paul's advances because of her concern over her stepmother Pamela's involvement with Ralph Steward,
a society idler. In order to protect her father, Carey flirts with Seward, and, learning that Seward
has incriminating letters written long ago by Pamela, Carey goes to his apartments, where Paul
rescues her and thrashes Seward. When Harry the Duke is recaptured, Paul confesses he is only a broker
who impulsively accepted Pamela's offer to be near her. In love, she forgives him.
