Mary Martin and John Raitt took ANNIE on tour and then brought it to live television in 1957. Although pared of the juvenile subplot and a lot of the dialogue this 90 minute presentation is jam-packed with songs from the original show. Mary Martin is SUPERB as Annie - a great creation to stand beside those of Merman and Hutton. She "acts" Annie as well as sings her. Raitt is excellent dramatically and vocally as Frank.
