DESCRIPTION:

Happy-go-lucky power pole linemen Torchy, Slim and Eddie maintain the city's electrical system despite rain, heat and gloom of night - but it's on the ground, when a girl enters the picture, that sparks start to fly. The linemen's boss Pop Foster is killed in a explosion, so they invite his daughter Ann to move into their home as their housekeeper. The 19-year-old is lovely, the linemen who once thought of her like a sister are smitten, and there are complications. When power lines need repair at the height of a hurricane's fury, there's a high-voltage climax amidst the wind and torrential downpour.

Made more than three years before its release, Crashing Through Danger predates the bigger if not better Slim with Henry Fonda and Manpower with Edward G. Robinson and Marlene Dietrich, which also portray men who work with live wires until a girl comes between them. In a scene that will catch the attention of movie trivia buffs, Ann (Sally Blane) makes a joking reference to Clark Gable -- Blane perhaps unaware that in real life, her sister Loretta Young was at that moment illegitimately pregnant with Gable's child!
