DESCRIPTION:

Bengal, the mid-19th century: With his son (Soumitra Chatterjee) gone to pursue his studies in Kolkota, a wealthy old landowner (Chhabi Biswas) is seized by the delusion that his dutiful new daughter-in-law (Sharmila Tagore) is the goddess Kali reincarnate.
