DESCRIPTION:

Wetona, the beautiful daughter of Chief Quannah, returns to the tribe after being educated at a fashionable University in Washington. An instructor on the reservation seduces the innocent girl by promising to marry her. Upon learning that his daughter is no longer a maiden, the chief flies into a rage, demanding that she be married at once or put to death. When no one comes forth, honest government agent John Hardin claims that he is the girl's lover, and marries her to save her life. Although Hardin has fallen in love with Wetona, he never lays a hand on the girl, waiting for the day that the cowardly man that ruined her steps forward to claim her.

Beautiful Norma Talmadge, a model since age 14, was recruited by studio heads at Vitagraph for a small role in The Household Pest in 1910. She had her greatest success in a series of films produced by her husband, producer Joseph M. Schenck, most notably Panthea (1917), The Wonderful Thing(1921), Eternal Flame (1922) and The Song Of Love (1923). Thomas Meighan was one of Paramount's top leading men of the silent era starring in Cecil B. DeMille classics The Trail of the Lonesome Pine (1916), Male and Female (1919), and Manslaughter (1922) as well as the lost Lon Chaney masterpiece The Miracle Man (1919).

BONUS: LOST IN THE NIGHT (1913): A young wife's somnambulism leads to disaster. Starring Pearl White and Chester Barnett
