Bastien (François Périer) and Furet (Paul Meurisse) are a journalist and photographer who work together as a team on the newspaper L'Echo du Jour. Just as they are about to go off on a weekend break with Micky (Martine Carol), their boss's secretary, they are sent to a crime scene to report the murder of a Russian named Le Moujik. Here, one thing intrigues them: the dead man has a beard and long untidy hair, but his hands and feet are in immaculate condition. As Bastien, Furet and Micky set off on their weekend trip to the Montmorency forest, they are caught in a thunderstorm and have to take shelter in an isolated house, La Ferme aux Loups. In one of the rooms, they are surprised to find the body of a man who was killed in exactly the same way as Le Moujik. When Micky recognizes a woman in a portrait, a Russian servant suddenly locks them up in the cellar. Having made their escape, Bastien and Furet return to their offices and offer to write a sensational report. However, their boss is more interested in what Micky has to say...
