DESCRIPTION:

"Lights Out" was an early television series based on the eerie dramatizations of the popular 1930s radio show. The broadcasts made writer and director Arch Oboler a household name synonymous with the macabre. It was brought to network television between 1949 and 1952. A precursor to shows like "Twilight Zone," "Night Gallery" and "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," "Lights Out" is a chilling remnant of old-fashioned ghost story-telling.

Dark Image: Newly-wed Aleen Pollard makes the mistake of gazing into a mirror once owned by her husband's dead lover.

The Faceless Man: Beautiful French maiden Laure does not realize that handsome stranger Francis Carvel was once the hideously deformed man she rejected, prior to his miraculous plastic surgery. Carvel pursues the unsuspecting Laure, but carries with him a deadly secret.

The Veil: Powerful Defense Attorney David Stevenson arranges to have his tawdry ex-lover murdered. The crime marks the start of a trial for his soul - with his dead lover as the prosecutor and the jury comprised of the slain victims of the guilty men he had acquitted.

Perchance to Dream: A "doppelganger" is the only possible explanation when the dark dreams of fiction author Joe Morgan become intertwined with the life of fellow author Frank Joyce.
