DESCRIPTION:

One woman plus two men is a recipe for mayhem in this tale of a hot-headed composer whose wife's faithlessness sends him from violins to violence.

Tony Mello, member of a Vienna cafe orchestra, sees red when his girl Lilli gets a job as a singer and starts receiving -- and liking -- the male attention. When he announces he is emigrating to America, the opportunistic Lilli agrees to become his wife. In San Francisco, Tony pursues his dream to write music and to begin conducting. Meanwhile, Lilli's already conducting an affair with a shady playboy. Driven to near-madness by her treachery, Tony attacks the playboy and lands in prison. He eventually receives a parole -- but, back on the outside, his troubles really begin. Vivienne Osborne, who plays Lilli, excelled in seductive "other woman" roles and hit her career high point as the manipulative wife of construction worker Edward G. Robinson in Warners' Two Seconds.

Although he appeared in over 90 films, accent specialist Leo Carrillo is best remembered for his co-starring role on the TV series The Cisco Kid. Beginning in 1950, at age 70, he played Pancho, the grammar butchering side-kick in 156 episodes through to 1956. As a tribute to his lifelong work as a conservationist and preservationist, the State of California named the Leo Carrillo State Park in his honor.
