DESCRIPTION:

The unglamorous and dangerous life of Hollywood stuntmen is portrayed in "Hooper," a comedy from star Burt Reynolds and director Hal Needham (two former stuntmen themselves). Burt plays a premier trick driver whose body has seen better days and who is roped into performing one last death-defying stunt by a young up-and-comer (Jan-Michael Vincent). With Sally Field, Brian Keith. Next, demoted after his cover is blown, an Atlanta cop (Reynolds, who also directed) musters up his new vice squad members to bring down the underworld kingpin (Vittorio Gassman) responsible for a crime wave hitting the city, in "Sharky's Machine." Rachel Ward, Bernie Casey, Keith also star. And, Reynolds assembles Jim Nabors, Ned Beatty, Loni Anderson, and director Needham for the fast-paced comedy "Stroker Ace," about a champion stock car racer forced to perform some outlandish stunts, such as wearing a chicken costume, for his new sponsor, a fried chicken company.
