Tarzan The Fearless (1933): A fabulous treasure lies in the Lost City of Zar, the jungle God. When Dr. Brooks, a scientist studying ancient jungle tribes, is captured by the High Priest and followers of Zar, the doctor's beautiful daughter, Mary, and her companion, Bob Hall, mount a rescue expedition. Their guides have a different agenda - looting the treasure and capturing Tarzan in order to claim a bounty on the Ape Man. When all parties are taken prisoner by Zar's followers, it falls to the Lord of the Jungle to rescue them from certain death. Tarzan the Fearless was one of the few Tarzan movies that was actually based on a story by the character's creator, Edgar Rice Burroughs. Buster Crabbe, an Olympic gold-medal swimmer, played the jungle king in this feature version of the fifteen chapter serial before going on to fame as Flash Gordon. Directed by Robert F. Hill Tarzan And The Trappers (1958): A vicious gang of hunters have set up camp in the jungle, illegally trapping and killing to fill their trophy rooms. When Tarzan puts an end to their sport and orders them to leave Africa, the men declare war on the king of the jungle and promise to have his head on their wall. They set a deadly trap igniting a conflict that threatens to shake the very foundations of the jungle. Tarzan and the Trappers was the fifth of the six movies in which Gordon Scott acted as the vine-swinging ape-man, and his portrayal is widely considered second only to the legendary Johnny Weissmuller. This rare film is actually comprised of unsold pilots for a proposed television series. Separate tree houses for Tarzan and Jane are an odd touch reflecting the morality of the '50s. Directed by Charles Haas and Sandy Howard. Product Description: TARZAN THE FEARLESS: Tarzan battles pagan tribes and beasts of the jungle to help a lady find her father who has been captured by the worshippers of "Zar," god of the emerald fingers. TARZAN AND THE TRAPPERS: Made from three TV episodes from a series that never came to be, Tarzan must stop mean white hunters searching for treasure in the jungle.
