"You'll believe a man can fly," as Superman/Clark Kent (Christopher Reeve) arrives in Metropolis, rescues fellow reporter Lois Lane (Margot Kidder), and defends America from the earth-shaking schemes of evil genius Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman) in "Superman" (Four-Disc Special Edition) (1978); with Marlon Brando, Ned Beatty, Valerie Perrine. Next, a trio of super-powered Kryptonian criminals arrives on Earth and battles Reeve for control of the planet in "Superman II" (Three-Disc Special Edition) (1980); Hackman, Kidder, Terence Stamp co-star.
