DESCRIPTION:

On the Arizona range, a wild stallion is caught and corralled by riders from the Moonstone Ranch. Pokey Sanders, a new hand on the ranch, gets the job of training the stallion, "Sky Rex." Ranch owner Georgia must win the big pay-off in the upcoming race, or her property will be seized for back taxes. Trouble brews when sportsman Van Wyck tries and fails to seduce Georgia. He then decides that his own horse must win the handicap by whatever crooked means necessary. Only Pokey and Sky Rex stand between Van Wyck and his dastardly plans.

Future "Range Busters" star John "Dusty" King made his Western starring debut (as Pokey, the romantic singing cowboy) in this rousing, outdoor drama, filmed in color in scenic Arizona and culminating with exciting, down-to-the-wire, photo-finish footage of the actual Phoenix Handicap. -- Tom Weaver
