Mollie Ryder is blackmailed into running off with Maurice Windermere for a romantic tryst. When Windermere's body is found in a trunk, Mollie's husband, John, is targeted by Scotland yard as the prime suspect. Enter famed sleuth. Lord Peter Wimsey, who insists on John's innocence.
