DESCRIPTION:

Left alone and poor after her father dies and her uncle spends all of her money on liquor, a young girl (Catherine Hessling) is taken in by a kindly Bohemian family, and begins to win the heart of the clan's shy son (Harold Levingston). The courtship may be dashed when the boy's own shiftless uncle frames her for a theft-and the accusation sticks. The first feature directed by legendary French filmmaker Jean Renoir, this silent romance also stars Pierre Champagne.
